Hymns of Zion #201

"...I want my friends to pray for me, to hold me up on wings of faith, that I may walk the narrow way, kept by our Father's glorious grace...I need the prayers of those I love." Hymns of Zion #201

12 days...!

Miguel,

you

make

my

smile

so

much

bigger!

Thank you for blessing my life!

For all those of you who support us in prayer, I just wanted to post some of our engagement photos.

A week and a half left until the wedding...!

I am thankful for God's work in our lives. I am thankful for Miguel and for his love and leadership. I am thankful for Cassidy Wulf who has stepped in to care for the boys with Marce. God keeps teaching me to trust my life to Him because He understands and is faithful to care for it.

Please pray for these next weeks that I can keep my focus on Christ and what truly matters. Please pray for our wedding day that God would be present and that He would be glorified. Please pray for me as I release the boys. At this time, that is the most difficult part of the transition for me, so I appreciate all your prayers for the boys, myself, Marce and Cassidy in this transition.

After our wedding, I will continue in my roles as therapist for Speedie and Kitchen Coordinator.

What's Up these Days?

Witnessing beautiful sunsets

Getting to know my fiancé. :)

Chalk painting

Getting wet in the sprinkler

Sharing dirt cupcakes and scooters

Starting on Expo projects

Photo shoots of handsome boys in "new," hand-me-down black pants

Make shift slip-n-slide

Watching the ducks

After getting soaked in the afternoon downpour, and then dried off, this kid put on three sweatshirts against the "cold." :)

Remembering my dad who passed away eight years ago today.

We would appreciate your prayers as Marce is traveling to Europe for 5 weeks and I am holding down the fort. I'm thankful to have my sister Megan visiting for a month to help out. Please pray that I will have patience and wisdom as I meet the needs of my three boys. Please pray for Miguel and I as we learn to know each other and plan for the future. Please pray that I keep Christ as my number one focus, because Jesus gives meaning to all we do and are! Without Him, all is vanity!

Enjoying Each Moment: Illinois Trip May 2018

On my first flight to Dallas from Tucson I sat beside a lady from the Dominican Republic who had lived for years in Tucson, but still wasn't real confident speaking English. When we arrived at our connection, she asked me to help her find her gate and then invited me to lunch. We chose a Mexican restaurant and enjoyed a delicious burrito!

I flew from Tucson to Toronto, Canada where I met up with my brother. Along with friends from our church in Kitchener, Ontario, we drove out to Rockville, CT for Memorial Day weekend.

Enjoying the company of sisters in Christ!

On my drive back to Illinois after the weekend, the air conditioner went out in the car, so we had the windows down (thus the hair). I could tell I was nearing my old stomping grounds when I smelled the alfalfa in the fields.

Family dinner at Grandpa and Grandma Steffen's. Seeing Justin's mug, I asked him, "Justin, did you feed the hungry?" He replied, "Yes! I was hungry and I fed myself!"

I enjoyed going through a bunch of old tapes with my Grandma Ricketts, everything from "The Lord of the Rings," to old sermons, to songs by "Little Marcy" that I used to listen to as a girl.

You know you've been gone awhile when you feel like a tourist in your own town. These old buildings on Main Street in Fairbury are SO cool!

A donut from Dave's bakery! :)

A walk in Fugate woods with my faithful mentor, Bonnie Dotterer, and some other friends. I made a daisy chain for the first time!

A game of kickball with the family.

Time didn't play because he wasn't feeling good, so he stayed in the protection of the tractor scoop.

Flying in to land in Tucson after two weeks of living and enjoying each moment I had! Sky views are always interesting.

Thanks to all of you who prayed for my trip! God is faithful!
