Hymns of Zion #201

"...I want my friends to pray for me, to hold me up on wings of faith, that I may walk the narrow way, kept by our Father's glorious grace...I need the prayers of those I love." Hymns of Zion #201

Fall Festivities in Flip-Flops

We finally switched a button-down shirt from church to work clothes. Zoom was pleased.

We keep working at it! My goal is for him to be able to walk with a belt or some other small support.

Noche de Chili y Pay 2017... still not chilly for this fall festival. I made pumpkin pecan pie.

And tied for third place.

Marce made an apple cream cheese with almonds and won 1st place!

I took Zoom to a friend’s birthday party. It was paw patrol themed and we had a lot of fun! Me, chatting with all the moms, and him, dancing and meeting all the kids. (In Mexico, you do not drop your kids off at birthday parties, the moms or parents go too.) As you can see, sleeveless weather continued.

Enjoying barbecue ribs by Dr. Duane Wulf. (Still wearing short sleeves.)

I took Zoom to an eye doctor appointment in Hermosillo to get a second opinion on his prescription. He and Miss G are pretending these books are iPads. “Don’t distract me or I’ll crash.”

Weather was still rather warm at our evacuation drill on October 26th. Zoom was happy to be one of the injured and ride in the ambulance.

He’s a scrape-out-the-pan kind of guy.

I had fun making a play dough replica of our neighborhood with Zoom for homework.

If only all the kids were such willing helpers...as Speedie who is sad to sit on the porch during Saturday cleaning.

This policeman sings really well and his microphone is a glue bottle.

Speedie loves the trains.

A man stopped by to trim the palm trees 🌴. It is quite interesting to watch. He has spikes strapped to his shoes and a rope that goes around his waist and the tree trunk. He moves the rope up, then takes two steps up, jamming the spikes into the trunk. Then he moves the rope up again.

Café Sed’s 7th anniversary party was a success. The piñata was definitely a highlight for the kids, but they also enjoyed tossing bean bags, mini golf, bingo, and a fortune wheel. The adults did too! The nights are getting cooler.

Little girls...Golden hour

On Monday Kendra and I brought a van load of food and supplies down for Thanksgiving. It was a long (8:30 am-11:30 pm), but successful day! We made lots of friends as I bagged up what I thought was eighty pounds of sweet potatoes (turned out to be 120 lbs. - 😬) and checked out three loaded carts.

Tuesday was picture day and I wish I could share our pictures, but they are not social media approved. Here the kids kick a ball around during family photos, waiting for the all-CVE photo.

We walked out the door and Speedie’s younger brother was wearing the same flannel button-down as our two boys! We didn’t even plan it. But he and Zoom enjoyed being “twins.”

They were probably sweating in that flannel. But I am thankful to report that I wore boots last night and today I am wearing long sleeves.

Marce leaves next Wednesday and then my days will be full with coordinating meals for the Thanksgiving team and caring for the boys. Please keep us in your prayers!

I have plane tickets to be in Central Illinois from December 9th-23rd.
